About the artist

Joyce is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS - USA) and a Senior Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (SFCA).  Her works have been entered in many juried exhibitions and she has had numerous solo and group shows internationally.  Her works have been featured and profiles have been written in books, magazines, dailies etc.  Some of these include the books, "Painting Composition", "Painting Color", "Abstract in Watercolor”,  “Best of Watercolor”, "Looking In, Looking out"; the magazines “American Artists”, “Art Impressions”, “Asahi Graph” (Tokyo), "Watercolour Gazette";  “International Artists”; “Viewpoint”, UBC Commerce alumni magazine and the dailies "Vancouver Sun", and "Times Colonist".        

  Joyce was born in Steveston, B.C., Canada and spent her first four years in the internment camp, Lemon Creek, B.C., Canada, then in Japan for nine years.  Her return to Canada took her to Montreal for two years then back to Richmond.  Years after obtaining her Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration Degree from the University of B.C., she studied art at Kwantlen and Langara colleges.
